Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's natural wonders. The crater, a massive collapsed volcano, creates a unique ecosystem supporting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. This is often called the 'Eighth Wonder of the World'.
The crater spans 610 meters deep and 19 kilometers across. Its steep walls create a natural enclosure, concentrating wildlife in a relatively small area. You can often spot all members of the Big Five within a single game drive.
